Kidzania, London

Kidzania London appointed Goddard Consulting LLP to act for both the base build, involving the complex vertical extension above the existing M&S store, and the subsequent fit-out to create the learning facility. KidZania London is a 75,000 square foot role playing theme park for children aged 4-14. It has its own airport, banks, hospital, university and even its own currency. The 2/3 reality scale environment is a chance for children to take part in constructive and fun role playing scenarios. The idea originally comes from Mexico and has proven popular – there are now nineteen KidZanias across the world in locations such as Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Istanbul, Cairo and Seoul. On entry to the park, children are tagged electronically with a bracelet allowing parents to keep track of them, while they relax or go shopping.
